Abstract
Following the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), a treatment for Autism that has been researched and empirically validated by the scientific community, the CARD II curriculum for individuals above the age of 8, is based on a specific skill hierarchy to address treatment of challenging behaviors, functional communication, adaptive, academic and vocational skills as well as basic, advanced language and social skills.
The CARD II program is flexible and can be tailored to satisfy the needs of different individuals in home, academic and community settings. This presentation will review the development of this program and demonstrate the successes seen in our adolescent and adult populations.
