Managing ENT Infections in Autistic Children

Abstract

Frequent ENT infections are usually observed by parents and physician in children with Autism. Several studies had looked into frequency and etiology of recurrent infections in ASD patients.

Oxidative stress, deficiency in methylation, and Immune dysfunction has been suggested as causes for increased risk of infection in children with Autism. We will review the frequency and etiology of such infections in the light of new research studies. As well as reviewing treatment modalities for ENT infections in these patients.
